Yes. We're simply here to help facilitate you in producing your best music yet. You own all rights to your recorded tracks.
We have over 60 instruments and services available within the subscription, and a handful of add-on services, too. We're constantly hiring new artists and you'll be able to work with any of them from the moment you sign up. Here's a full list!
Included in the subscription: Accordian, Banjo, Bass, Beats, Cello, Clarinet, Double Bass, Drums, Dulcimer, Flute, Guitar, Keyboards, Mandolin, Oud, Piano, Percussion, Sax, Talkbox, Trombone, Trumpet, Ukulele, Violin, Vocals, Pre-Production, Production Advice, Mix Advice and Mastering.
Add-ons: Arrangement, Transcription, Mixing, Orchestral sessions.
We have an extremely thorough, rigorous and selective application process, and only hire the best of the best. Our strict criteria (before running interviews, mock sessions and training) includes being incredible musicians, competent technicians, having a top-tier professional recording studio, being brilliant communicators and possessing the ability to operate with integrity and authenticity. So don't worry, you're in very safe hands. But we'll let the quality of your received music files and current customer testimonials speak for themselves!
Our business model is unique - we hire musicians on a salary, rather than paying per gig. We pay the equivalent of $48,000 full time salary in the US, adjusted for local cost of living in different countries across the globe.
Every recording session is 30 minutes long and is held over livestream, using Zoom for the visual feed and Audiomovers for a high quality audio feed. During the session, you'll be able to meet and chat to the musician, direct the recording and do a few full takes, as well as any overdubs if time allows. You'll receive your music files no later than 24 hours after every session.
As a general rule, it's helpful to send over stems of your material in its current state, as combined audio or as separated vocals/ harmony/ percussion. Minus the instrument line you want to record, of course! Supplementary written material is also really helpful, so that our musicians can follow along the chords (or even a score). If you're not experienced creating written material, or want to save time, you can book these types of services as part of the subscription, i.e. with pre-production you can have any basic audio material converted into industry-standard lead sheets, or even midi files converted into professional scores.
You'll be surprised at what can be achieved in a 30 minute session! We pay artists for preparation time, and sessions are held over livestream, meaning artists will come to the session ready to record and be able to respond to your requests in real time. For a typical 3-4 minute song, you can expect to record at least 3 full takes and any overdubs/ punches you might need. Some sessions like vocal recordings and Mix/ Production advice are 45 minutes, so there's even more time to nail it. This is production efficiency at its best.
Yes - You get to collaborate with the artists on your song, in real time. Our musicians are masters of their craft, so they'll often bring magical insights and approaches you never even thought of. Your creations will get leveled-up right in front of your eyes and ears!
The only software you need to download is Zoom, for the video live stream of your session. We use Audio Movers (owned by Abbey Road Studios) for the audio element of the session, but you don't need to install anything - it will simply open in your browser and play from there.
When you book a session, you can choose in which format you'd like to receive the files. You can either choose to receive a session file, which will depend on the artist's DAW (e.g. Pro Tools, Logic Pro, etc) or instead to receive individual Stems of each take. You'll receive your files in your preferred format within 24 hours after the session.
In addition to 60+ available instruments, we also have Pre-Production, Production Advice, Mix Advice and Mastering included in the subscription. And this list is growing!
Beatmaking sessions are an opportunity for you to lay down some fresh beats on your track! Whether it's Trap, Hip-Hop, or even Latin music, you just need to share your song ideas (stems, drumless track) and join our beatmaker for a super creative session. Our beatmaker can also record live drums as well as electronic beats if you so desire.
In a Production Advice session, you'll get the opportunity to discuss your song with a professional producer! They'll provide you with invaluable feedback and help advise you on what next steps you need to take in order to get your song produced in the best way possible.
Mix Advice sessions are an incredible opportunity to discuss your mix with a GRAMMY-award winning audio engineer, and receive invaluable advice to get it sounding exactly like you envisioned (and better!). You'll come out of the session with a deeper understanding of how to maximize your sound, whilst getting tips and tricks on mixing and how to prepare your production for the mastering process. These sessions are 45 minutes, instead of the standard 30 minutes, so that you can soak up as much value as possible.
Pre-Production helps you bridge the gap from having a musical idea in your head, to having professional materials ready for our session musicians to start working with and record your music.
In a nutshell, our Music Producer will create and/or improve your materials, ahead of your recording sessions. This way, you can guarantee that your materials will be of a professional standard, so that your next recording session can yield the best experience and results.
Transcription is about transforming your virtual mock-up or audio files into professional scores which our session musicians will use to record your music.
At Musiversal, we empower your music in all stages of creation. If you can’t or don't want to write the score for your music, our arranger Pedro Araújo is ready to transcribe it.
You may have your entire song recorded, but wish to record a string quartet or a horn section, despite not knowing how to write for those instruments. Our arranger can do that for you. Or, you may only have a simple recording done on your phone, and have no idea of what you could do next. Our arranger will then propose instruments, form and colorful harmonies. He'll proceed to produce world-class materials, including audio stems and scores, for all the musicians to record your music. All you need to do next is to send the materials for the musicians!
Mixing is about leveling all the instruments and the vocals, to accomplish both the musical and emotional vision of your song. Our mixing engineers are some of the best in the business - as well as being incredibly attentive to your needs. After the mix, your song will be unrecognizable, and it'll be something you'll be really proud to share.
Mastering is about taking your mix and preparing it for release and distribution. Our mastering engineer has 10 Latin Grammys; he's one of the best in the business! And it's included in your subscription. You can also choose to attend the mastering session to see a master at work. Need we say more?
The 2-week free trial gives you the opportunity to book one session, free of charge. There's no upfront payment required and you can cancel at any time.
The subscription enables you to book live streaming sessions with any of our session musicians, vocalists, producers and audio engineers, which you can find on our Explore page. The number of sessions you can book depends on the plan you choose. Arrangement, Transcription, Mixing and Orchestral recordings are not currently included within the subscription.
Our monthly plans offer a fixed number of sessions each month. For example, the Studio 5 plan gives you 5 sessions per month. With annual plans, you'll get unrestricted yearly access. For example, the Studio 360 plan gives you 360 sessions to use all year round, at your own pace.
