Isaku Kageyama

Working with Isaku and his taiko ensemble on the Ghost of Tsushima score was a career highlight for me. I wish everyone on earth could have been in the studio that day, to with hear their own ears (and feel with their own bodies) the power of these performers and their beautiful instruments. I am so impressed by Isaku and his commitment to preserving and promoting Japanese traditional culture through his music. Composers should hire Isaku on their next gig to get the REAL DEAL!

I had the pleasure of working with Isaku on a new obon song, “Kangie” written by Nobuko Miyamoto. His heartfelt performance elevated the song to everything I could have imagined. He was thoughtful and generous with his ideas and a joy to work with. I look forward to working with him again in the near future.

I worked with Isaku on Ghost of Tsushima. Not only does he have a comprehensive understanding of traditional Japanese music and western music, but he can also seamlessly integrate the two cultures together beautifully. To top it all off, his professionalism is second to none - making him one of the best collaborators I've ever worked with.
